Anette Solli is the Mayor of Akershus County, Norway. She represents the Conservative Party and has currently held the position for six years. Solli is a veteran when it comes to regional politics. She was first elected to the County Council in 1991. During her time there she has served in all the Standing Committees under the County Council and has been member of the County Executive Board for sixteen years. Solli has also worked as a political advisor for the Conservative Party in the Norwegian Parliament. In 2017 Mrs. Solli was elected chair of the joint board preparing the merger of three Norwegian counties, Akershus, Buskerud and Østfold. The joint board consists of elected politicians from the three merging counties. The merger will be effective from January 1st 2020 and the name of the new county is Viken.
