Carmen Vogt is Programme Director at German Development Cooperation, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, based in Germany, currently heading Sector Programmes in the field of Sustainable Urban and Metropolitan Development and implementation of Agenda 2030 in Cities and Regions.
Carmen Vogt has more than 20 years of technical and management experience in International Development Cooperation and Policy Advice in the areas of Urban Development, Decentralization Policies, Environment, Climate, Disaster Risk Management and digital solutions in cities (Smart Cities). She was responsible for programmes in Latin America, Europe and Asia and contributed to the development of the International Sustainability Agenda (Agenda 2030), the New Urban Agenda (NUA) and the Climate Agenda at her various posts, collaborating closely with multi- and bilateral partners, national and local stakeholders.
Her key fields of expertise are integrated urban development, climate friendly and smart cities with a particular focus on resilient cities / urban vulnerabilities and resource efficiency in cities.
