Mariana leads WWF-US’ efforts to accelerate climate action by state and non-state actors around the world to close the climate ambition gap. Prior to this position, Mariana served as WWF’s lead for climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean, and oversaw five country programs in the region. Mariana also coordinated a program to protect 10 million hectares of protected areas and indigenous territories in the Amazon. Prior to WWF, Mariana worked for The Summit Foundation, The Nature Conservancy and a network of peasant organizations in Peru. Mariana is originally from Argentina.
